  • What privilege it was to be a part of George's amazing life story in a number of different ways. So many happy memories to reflect on and I am so thankful for the very many positive ways in which he influenced my own journey. Thanks "Boss"

  • If it was not for THE BOSS, I don't know where or what I would have became, he was an amazing man, officer and gentleman.
    For always in my memories.
    Cheers Boss.

  • He was a true Officer and a Gentleman. Without him shooting in the Corps will be in an infinitely poorer place. He set the example for others to follow. He always had time for us in the shooting world and always had a solution to problems. He will be sorely missed.

  • This was George with the last Hong Kong team in 2019 with the rest of the Marksman & Competition team (including me) that helped train the team with George as the OC. It was a real privilege to be part of a great team for many years led by George. He taught me so much about shooting and was always kind and thoughtful and willing to spend time with anybody to help them improve. Although he did have a temper sometimes. We had so many evening of drinking and laughing at Bisley and he helped me try and get a job at CCRS, which made me realise what a great person he was. I will never forget at Pirbright after everybody had gone home I was left to clear up the accommodation and gym, so he got hold of another hoover and we spent hours in the sweltering heat hoovering all the rooms, so it could be handed back, I will never forget his kindness and enthusiasm and that great smile. Although coming from Wales I did find it difficult to understand his strong accent sometimes. I am so glad he come to Bisley for the inter-services competition and I was able to give him a big hug. Sending hugs to you all.
