Caretaker
I’d like to express my condolences on behalf of the entire Mike Lorang family. Tom was a dear friend to my Father, Mike Lorang, he inspired and helped guide my Dad toward our Lorang RV/Mini Storage in Colfax. Tom would stop by my Dads Shop and they’d “talk shop” - conversations about the Construction Industry, life, politics, business and a future of a little less worry for “the grandkids” - Although i did not know Tom personally, My Father did and his influence and friendship with my Father has and will always be a contributing factor toward the success and comfort of this life for my Generation, the next generation of family and the hope, with Gods Will, of many more to come. Thank you Tom for being a kind, and dear friend to our Father, he is deeply missed and so too, will you be. Sincerely, thank you for “paying it forward” - all the “things” of this world are temporary, it’s the memories of extraordinary Men like you, that will last in our hearts. God Bless, JoAnn Lorang, Carol Lorang Davis, Charlie Lorang and Matthew Lorang
I’m going to miss you Tom , you didn’t know it but you were such an influential part of my life . One of your famous quotes to me struck a cord and I have lived by it . “The squeaky wheel gets the grease”. Love you brother can’t wait to see you o the other side 🙏
Tom Peterson was an extraordinary person. Though I had the opportunity to meet him only once, that meeting left a lasting impression. Tom embodied what it means to be self-made—someone who lived life fully, embraced possibility, and approached the world with a spirit of curiosity, determination, and generosity. I was grateful for the opportunity to be part of his journey through our 15+ year business relationship, working closely with two wonderful business managers who supported him so faithfully over the years—first Carl and now Jim. Through them, I experienced Tom's commitment to excellence, partnership, and trust. Beyond the business side, I am deeply inspired by the way Tom lived. He seemed to see opportunity in everything and made the most of the life he built. It has been especially moving to see the many stories and tributes that reflect how deeply he touched so many people. His generosity, vision, and impact are evident in the lives of those who knew him. I am incredibly grateful for the partnership and the chance to have been a small part of his story. Tom's example reminds us all to live boldly, dream bigger, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. He will be remembered with great respect, admiration, and gratitude. My heartfelt condolences to Tom's family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

Tom, I never thought a day would come where you wouldn’t be here. You were always a superhero to me growing up, and I think I just assumed you’d be here as long as I was. I suppose I believed you would outlive all of us—which is kind of a crazy thought considering some of the experiences we shared together. I think about you all the time, brother. More now than when you were here, and that’s been an interesting process. You used to constantly warn me about time and about being “too busy.” You gave your time freely and always made an effort to check in and catch up. I wish we had more time together. I wish we could have one more conversation. One more ride. Just one more drive in your truck where you’d tell me what I was doing wrong and what I should be doing right. I always valued your perspective and your advice because, as hard as you could be on me, I always knew it came from a place of love. Your intentions were always good—in everything you put your energy into. You taught me so much. So much about business. About people. About having a heart for others, a heart for life, and a deep appreciation for nature. You gave so much of yourself. Just being close enough to you to watch how you operated and how you processed situations was a blessing. I’m incredibly thankful for those moments. I just wish, now more than ever, there had been more of them. I’m sorry if I ever let you down or wasn’t there when you needed me. This is all so weird. As long as I can remember, you were just… there. You taught me how to operate equipment, how to use common sense, and how to think about other people. You always showed up for me in your own unique ways. I wish we could spend more time together. I wish I could have one more day, one more road trip, or one more phone call. I miss you, Tom. One of one, wild man. There will never be another you. You were lightning and thunder. The world only had room for one Tom Peterson. Love you Tom-
