  • When I was nine, Kiran Kaka came to visit us for a few days, and alongside him came a late season blizzard. I insisted he join me for a snowball fight, and he generously humored me, but then we spent hours out in the snow, laughing the whole time. Even now, years later, it remains one of my most cherished memories, and a wonderful example of his most defining traits: his humor, his joy, his kindness. In all my fun conversations with him over the years, those things have shone through brightly, and I am so grateful to have been able to speak with him recently one last time. Thank you for being such a light in the lives of so many. You will be dearly missed.

I still remember that cricket match we had played against Computer point where he was breaking the stumps and legs of those Computer point buddies with a smile on his face and a sorry for their solace. RIP dear friend. You will always be in our hearts

They say when you get married, you marry the whole family. I have been very fortunate in that regard, with Kiran being the best of the lot. Too many adjectives to describe him, but to me he was jolly and unflappable.
He always put his family before anything else, sacrificing his own career to take care of his parents, and also his uncle and aunt who had no children. With him being the rock, we were able to pursue our life abroad.
He was always there for anyone who needed him, family, friends, colleagues, workers, pretty much anyone who he came in contact with. He was quite the problem solver for everyone. And he did all of this with a cheerful attitude, and with no drama.

I am very grateful to have been part of his life. I will miss him dearly. But take solace in having in numerable good memories of him and being with Leena, Revant and Anaaya.

    Have fun in heaven Kiran!

I stand here today with a broken heart to say goodbye to the love of my life, my soulmate, my husband- Kiran. Together we made memories that last forever,we laughed every day and shared the most wonderful moments. His kindness, strength, intelligence and humility touched not just our family but all who knew him. His contagious smile and witty sense of humour would light up any room he was in and make even the worse day seem a bit brighter. I am beyond grateful he was by my side through our incredible journey and won’t ever forget the love in his eyes that melted my heart every time he looked at me. Although he may be gone from this world, his legacy lives on through Revant, Anaaya and the people he touched. We carry his memory with us and it brings me comfort to know that so much of him is alive in friends and family. Goodby my love, till we meet again.

Kiran & Jayshri Kagalkar

Jolly Good Fellow In August 1981, in my 2nd year of Engineering at our hostel in Bangalore, we called in the new students for introductions. Kiran came to my room. He was of a much bigger build than me & I was scared to question him! A funny question-answer session followed wherein our first name was the same, we were from the same area, the same street & both our parents had moved into Mumbai recently. In many of our post college get togethers, Kiran, in his inimitable style - great mimic that he was, with brilliant comic timing & hearty laughter would describe our meeting leaving everyone in splits. After college, when we lived near each other in Mumbai we met almost every evening, something I always looked forward to. There were many great evenings over drinks & many unforgettable impromptu road trips. We laughed endlessly, pulled each other’s leg & laughed even more. He was a yaaron ka yaar, with a large heart. We were witness to each other finding a life partner. Kiran threw a party to introduce Leena in a restaurant. Excellent singer that he was, he sang Pal pal dil ke paas tum rehti ho. I recall Leena's expression from that lovely evening. She was in awe listening to him. In 1996, we travelled to Italy. On our last night, our passports were stolen. At a police station in Milan, we struggled since the cops spoke only Italian. Kiran noticed the head cop struggling with his computer. He offered to help & quickly fixed the issue. He managed to crack a joke as well that made them laugh. The rest of our problems vanished & we made it onto our return flight. He was intelligent, never lost his temper & was a very fast thinker. He would look at life with calm clarity, making complex things feel simple & practical. Jayshri considered him her guru in the stock market. A song comes to mind "Diye Jalte Hain, Phool Khilte Hain.Badi Mushkil se duniya mein Kiran Dalvi jaise dost milte hain" Kiran, your smile and laughter are always with us!

KIRAN I WILL MISS YOU FOREVER. I AM SURE YOU WILL ALSO MAKE THE GODS HAPPY BY YOUR PRESENCE WITH THEM AND YOUR EVERLASTING SMILE. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND

Siddhanand Kowadkar

It is hard to find the words to say goodbye to someone who has been a constant in my life for more than 25 yeras. At 64, you were taken far too soon, but you fought your battle with a quiet, steady courage that I will never forget. Twenty five years is a lifetime of shared jokes, milestones, and quiet conversations. You were there through the highs and the lows, always offering a listening ear or a well-timed laugh. Your strength during these last few months wasn't just in fighting the illness, but in how you continued to care for those around you even when your own energy was fading. Rest easy now. Your fight is over, but the friendship we built over last so many years remains an indelible part of who I am. KD, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Kiran Uncle has always been the wisest person in the room yet the most humble. Knowing him for over two decades has been such a privilege and I’ll always be grateful to Anaaya for introducing him into our lives. Over the years, our equation evolved beautifully from formal conversations to long chats filled with laughter and random thoughts. What I will cherish most is how patiently he listened. He had this rare gift of making you feel truly heard. Our shared love for nolen gur roshogolla will forever be my sweetest reminder of him. I often wish he could have met my partner, I can almost hear him teasing, “Boss, you finally found someone who talks more than you.” And thank you Kiran Uncle and Leena Aunty for your endless generosity in happily allowing us to “freeload” using your Club Mahindra points for those unforgettable trips to Goa, Alleppey and Sikkim. Those memories are now even more precious. We miss you dearly.

Leo Mascarenhas

Always miss you as a great leader and a caring friend. Lot many memories which cannot be pending into words. Rest in eternal peace Gangsta.

Suvarna and Gowtham

A disarming smile, magnetic charisma, down-to-earth personality, unflagging kindness, professional wisdom, positivity being just a few of the ideal traits that defined Kiran, it's a stunning jolt to realize that he is suddenly no more with us, ruthless destiny playing its final game on him. A warm and bright light, though appears being extinguished from the earth, actually has been transformed into omnipresence and eternity, for instance, as ' light rays', isn't that what 'Kiran' means? Dear Leena and children, feel not bereaved, fear not, stay strong and brave, Kiran is there shining down upon you, inspiring and guiding you, be it day or night! Our sincere prayers and heartfelt condolences! May his soul Rest in Peace! Lovingly yours, Suvarna and Gowtham

Aneesh

Kiran Dada and I were not just cousins — we were also neighbors in Santacruz. Being 15 years older, he was more like a protector to me. Whenever my parents scolded me, he would step in as the peacemaker, downplaying the whole situation. I always admired his ability to lighten tense moments with his humour. Some of my earliest memories with him are of staying up late at night watching movies on the rented VCR at Dalvies, munching on snacks together. He had a wonderful sense of humour. As a child, I loved listening to the gappa-goshti between Aai, Baba, him, Kamalkaka, and Kirtimavshi. In those days, with no mobile phones, those weekend chit-chats were our best entertainment. As we grew older, whenever we met, he would warmly ask, “Aneeshbhaai kaisa hai?” Kirandada was the best big brother I could have ever had. I will miss you dearly, Kirandada. Sharing a pic I clicked with him a year back. Also attaching some pics Aparnatai found in our old photo albums.

Rajesh Mehta

A friend for a long time. Humour and liveliness are the words that describe him. He was in the computer business when we first met. I bought my first PC from him. We used to meet on and off, but could pick up where we left off last time. He was amazing company. Rest in peace, my friend.
