My Padrino.
It has taken me weeks to finally find the strength to find and write these words. I’m not even sure how I got so lucky to be your goddaughter, but I was. And here’s what I know…
My Padrino was the most generous person I’ve ever known. His light and energy have always surrounded me since I can remember and everyone else he immediately met. Without even trying, he grabbed everyone’s attention with his humor, style and kindness. Sometimes all three at the same time! But… his best and my most favorite trait of his was his storytelling! I will really really miss his storytelling.
From his early beginnings as being one of the pioneers of South Bronx breakdancing to ORIGINALLY coining the name and starting his Bad Boy business in Wisconsin ….to eventually becoming an incredible family and business man. He always seemed joyful and full of life. Plotting his next steps and big plan!
I remember my last conversation with him on the phone. He schooled me on the importance of hanging in there when things get tough and told me about three stories to prove his point. And I loved every second of it. And before hanging up, as he did every time he spoke with me, he told me how much he loved me. How proud of me he was.
I love you Padrino. Your stories will always live in my heart and may your light forever shine on all who loved you. I will miss you for eternity. Bendicion. My Padrino. In Loving Memory of Efren Manzanet Jr. — “E” ????️
It is with a heavy heart, but also with deep gratitude, that I pay tribute to my dear friend and business partner, Efren Manzanet Jr., affectionately known to me as “E.”
I had the blessing and privilege of meeting E through my dear close friend, Michael Henry, a man who is so close to me that I consider him a brother. Michael introduced me to E, and I will always be grateful that God allowed our paths to cross.
Sometimes people enter our lives through a simple introduction, but they leave an impression that goes far beyond that moment. E became more than a business connection. He became a friend, someone I respected and appreciated, and someone whose presence became part of my life’s journey.
E, thank you for the conversations, the laughter, the encouragement, the business we shared, and most importantly, the friendship. Life reminds us that tomorrow is never promised, which makes the moments we share with one another even more precious.
To the Manzanet family, his loved ones, friends, and everyone whose life was touched by E, my husband Harry and I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. We pray that God will surround you with His love, strengthen you in the difficult days ahead, and comfort your hearts with the memories that no one can ever take away.
The Bible reminds us:
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4
And to my dear friend Michael, thank you for introducing me to E. What began with an introduction became a friendship I will always treasure.
Efren “E” Manzanet Jr., you will be remembered. You will be missed. And the impact you made in the lives of those who knew and loved you will not be forgotten.
May your memory continue to live in the hearts of all whose lives you touched.
With love, prayers, and deepest sympathy,
Linette & Harry Grant ????????????️
Rest peacefully, E.
