Dwayne Farnsworth - Memorial - Share your memories of Dwayne

Our father Dwayne Farnsworth lived a wonderfully full life. Though it pains us to have lost him too soon we find healing in hearing, reading, and seeing memories of how he impacted the lives of the people around him. If he made you laugh or taught you something...if you have a story, a memory, or a moment with him you want to share, this is the place — thank you.

-The proud children of Dwayne Farnsworth

*A memorial service celebrating Dwayne's life will be held:

Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 777 E. Elliot Road Gilbert, Arizona 85234

Livestream of the service: https://evt.live/dwayne-farnsworth-memorial-celebration-of-life

Arrangements are entrusted to Bunker Family Funeral Home. All who knew and loved Dwayne are warmly invited to attend.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

  • During my time living in AZ had the opportunity to spend time with his sons Adam, Dallin and Austin. They had a great family, always happy and receiving us with a big smile when we went to their house to play. During youth activities he was always funny and warm. Always will remember him and his family!

  • Your mom and I were not only sisters but we were best friends. Our childhood dream was to get married and live close to each other so our children could be friends. Our Dream came true for the Biggs and the Farney's! We loved being together. We loved the Whitlock campouts, the fun times in the rec room, swimming and barbecues in the Biggs backyard , going to Disneyland, and even on a cruise together. There was a lot of fun and a lot of love shared between our families. Uncle Dwayne was the fun and funny Uncle. He knew how to camp and made camping trips fun and memorable with great food, and fun activities, which created great memories for each of us.
I have pictured Cosette numerous times the past few weeks smiling from ear to ear as she watched her Uncle Dwayne do silly antics and crack jokes. I am sure she was there to meet him when he came home.

  • I don’t even know where to start. I was hoping to attend in person but didn’t know how to find out when or where it would be. I loved farnsworth so much. He was my favorite teacher and I was blessed to have him freshman and senior year of highschool. I think I was his favorite student too but who knows. I have so many memories with him and photos and videos. He was truly my favorite. He would always talk to my younger sisters about me and I’ve missed him as a mentor but a friend too ever since starting college. I took a photo with him when I graduated and I took one with him when my younger sister graduated too. Both of my sisters ended up having him as a teacher and they loved him as much as I did. I rememebr all the little arguments him and I would have in class, all the jokes we cracked, all the funny photos and videos we had. He was such a wonderful soul and I was so sad to hear of his passing. I’m praying for your whole family and praying for Dwayne too. He will be truly and greatly missed by the whole community.

  • Hi I'm London! I was lucky enough to call myself one of Farney's students in his last months. One of my best stories of farney is one time where me and my friend were sneaking some goldfish during class (he didn't particularly love eating in class just due to potential peanut and nut allergies). But he caught me shoving a handful in my mouth and made eye contact with me. This was then followed by a question of, "Do you have nuts in your mouth?". Obviously seeing the slip in his words after the question left his mouth the whole class was laughing and Farney was bent over laughing for 2 minutes. He profusely apologized afterwards for embarrassing me, but as I repeated to him it was a very small class and it was funny and accidental. What was a small moment of funny embarrassment for him was a lifelong enjoyable memory my whole class shares.

  • Mr Farnsworth was a really awesome Government teacher. He always had a lot of things to say, and he wasn’t afraid to make his jokes. He told a lot of stories in class, and was really enthusiastic about getting us involved with the things we were learning about. At the end of our year, me and the rest of the class managed to get him to let us go out into the grass, and we ate donuts together. I think he was definitely willing to play along with what we said for the fun of it, and still give us something to learn along the way. He was an amazing teacher to have in my senior year!

  • Uncle Dwayne always cracked me up. He had jokes. He was really good at snapping into his tortilla stripper pose. Always game for whatever the kids were doing too. I can remember a number of times when uncle Dwayne caught us about to blow something up or create some kind of ruckus and we’d brace ourselves for a scolding, but more often than not he’d have some tips on how to make a bigger explosion or how to more efficiently execute our hijinks.

When I first started dating Kristine he was so welcoming to her and showed us both a lot of love. Because of his continued support for us from the get go we asked him to officiate our ring ceremony. He wrote and spoke so many kind and thoughtful words. It meant a lot to us. I am forever grateful for the love and kindness he gave us especially as Kristine and I began our lives together.

  • I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Farnsworth as a teacher for two years at Desert Vista. I am now a rising senior in college and can confidently say I have never had a teacher that has left a more positive and lasting impact on my life than Mr. Farnsworth.

I will always remember the kindness, patience and laughter that Mr. Farnsworth brought to class every single day. He had a way of making his students feel so special & important - something that certainly did not go unnoticed and I know many others can say the same. I’ll always remember the funny costumes he would wear to class and the way he could make even an ordinary school day memorable. He never failed to ask me how my volleyball games went the following day in class, which speaks so much to the type of person and teacher he was. I’ll also never forget him pulling me aside after our final class freshman year and telling me how confident he was that I would succeed one day - a conversation that has stayed with me ever since. It was clear how much he loved teaching and how deeply he cared about his students, and that is something none of us will ever forget.

Rest in peace, Mr Farnsworth. Thank you for everything you gave to your students , school, and everyone lucky enough to know you. I hope you know how much you meant to so many people .You will be deeply missed????

"My name is Lonnie Frost". I have many fond memories of Dwayne and am saddened by his passing so soon. My favorite is, while Dwayne was scoutmaster the Deacons (scouts) discovered the entrance to the crawl space under the church building inside a closet. They made their way over to the space under the high council room where a meeting with the HC and Stake Presidency was taking place..... a member of the stake Presidency that did not know Dwayne ran into him searching for who was in charge of the scouts. Dwayne's response when asked what his name was...."my name is Lonnie Frost". Such a classic response from him and I always loved his retelling of that event. Such a great storyteller!!!
