  • David moved through the world with a kind of magnetic curiosity, turning every conversation into an adventure of ideas and heart. He mentored with a gentle brilliance, guiding without ego and somehow always knowing exactly when to challenge and when to lift. In his presence, even the ordinary felt enchanted, as if life itself expanded to meet his imagination. Though he is gone, the wisdom and wonder he sparked continue to glow in everyone fortunate enough to have been shaped by his light.

  • Pedro (Odera Akang'o, as he was called by the Sauri MV) was like a father to me. He opened my eyes to the world. He and the late Cheryl (Jane Atieno) paid for part of my tuition from their own resources. I am what I am today because of him. Sadly missed by the Sauri community. R I P Akang'o.

  • I have many memories of how kind David was from when I would see him in the West Village in NYC. The last time I saw him he brought a cake to our party at our barn in Clinton Corners. He was always such an interesting person to talk to with so much creative and worldly experience. I hope to meet his daughter one day up here in Dutchess County. He spoke so highly of her.

  • I vividly recall our first meeting at my office on Varick Street sometime in the 90’s. That warm afternoon in June she unleashed a torrent of ideas, all brought forth with her trademark enthusiasm and THAT smile. So smart, such unstoppable momentum. That meeting was the first of many and we collaborated on a range of projects for the next decade+. I have no great shortage of wonderful Dave memories. I will share one that is coming to me now.
