Curtis, no matter where is voice was at always had words of life to speak over each person who he knew. This is the very last Psalm that I have written down from him in small group.
Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those who are far from you shall perish; you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.”
Psalm 73:23-28
Curtis was always ready with a psalm to encourage and exhort, this last one could not be more fitting for the glory he is now in. We will miss his witty remarks, his joyful smile, his words of wisdom, and his enthusiasm for God and His Word. During the Parsons time at PVC CP would typically sit to the right of the worship platform. Playing percussion during worship my eyes always looked for him as his genuine smile, body swaying to the worship music and hands clapping or raised in worship always spoke to my spirit and inspired me to mimic him while playing. It spoke of encouragement, sheer joy, humbled commitment to His master, rhythm (CP had great rhythm) and finally CP had a look on his face that I don’t see often enough in Christ believers, not even when I look in the mirror, of satisfaction of whatever comes his way. I had the privilege of being CP’s personal physical therapist and treating him after all of radiation therapy was not a joyous task for either of us. But you know, that look I shared that I’d see in him during worship was still present even during the discomfort of treatment. CP never wavered in his love, admiration, dependence on Jesus Christ. May we ALL carry that spirit forward. I love you CP and will miss your spirit, smile, warm and genuine hugs and your tears of joy.

Curtis was a wonderful leader. A man of incredible faith. I was so lucky to be lead as a high schooler by his sweet wife. As i grew up and moved to California they also made time to stop by and say hello to me at Disney. I had the privilege of working for him for a brief period and experience how he handled everything life threw at him. He never once questioned or doubted God and he would always praise Him even in times of uncertainty. I have great confidence that once Curtis returned home he was greeted with “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” ????Curtis was a wonderful leader. A man of incredible faith. Dear Parsons Family, How bittersweet it was to see that Curtis, your husband and dad, had gone to see our Heavenly Father. When I saw the post on Facebook, my heart just sank. I couldn't believe it and I didn't want to believe it. He was too young! But then, I put aside my selfish emotions and realized how unbelievably awesome it must be for Curtis to be in the presence of Jesus! I can only imagine the smile on his face and how he would probably be dancing, you know the way only Curtis could dance. My heart breaks for you guys as I know you will miss him terribly. But I also know that you know you will see him again soon. Miss and love you guys!
