  • I love Bishop and Sister Brott so much. Words truly fail me to express how much they have inspired me, and set a high standard example for me to follow. I will miss him more than he ever knew.

  • Not long after we moved to Nebraska, Bishop Brott came to TCOO and preached a “Faith Promise” service. He operated in the “gift of faith,” and we pledged one of our largest offerings to missions. However, what he did not know was that my wife and I were personally going through a financial struggle. We had prayed and knew God would take care of us. What we didn’t know was what Bishop Brott would do at the close of the Faith Promise service. He was about to bring the service to its end, and then stopped and said, “I feel the Lord wants us to raise a special love offering for the Powells.” The amount that was given that morning was the exact amount that we needed.

I will forever remember my friend and the faith in God he lived. I look forward to the day I Bishop Brott again in eternity.

  • Pastor BROTT was the first man of God in my life. His council, teaching, and preaching, strengthened my walk. I am grateful he was a special part of my journey through life. My heart hurts for you all! I pray God give you warm memories to comfort you, reminders of his kindness, and tears of joy that he finished the race well.

  • It is hard to put into words what you have meant to me and what you have shown me over these past six years. It has been such an honor to be loved by you and Nana Brott
You have shown me what perseverance, faith, integrity, servanthood, a love for the church body, and a deep love for family and God look like—even when your body didn't do what you wanted it to.
Thank you both for making sure that every holiday and birthday I spent away from my own family, I still had a family to spend them with. From the very first day I arrived in Nebraska, you opened your doors, your ears, and your hearts to me.
I will miss your cheekiness and your laughter. I will miss how you rarely turned down ice cream whenever the opportunity arose. I will miss seeing how, in your own way, you rejoiced in hearing the Word of God and how it continued to stir your spirit. That joy and love for Him never faded.
But most of all, I will miss simply seeing you.
I love you more than words can express, and I'll see you again soon, when we are all gathered together to meet Jesus in the air.
    Until then.

  • “David, have you ever been baptized in Jesus’ name? Would you like to”? Two questions he asked that changed my life forever. I look forward to seeing him again someday in glory!

  • I simply can’t imagine what my life—or my family’s—would look like without Papa and Nana Brott.

From officiating my parents’ wedding, to welcoming me into LDI at 16, to countless Skip-Bo games, dinners around the table, eight Thanksgiving dinners while I was away from my own family, so much laughter, and even my most recent birthday celebration in their home… what a gift it has been to be considered “family.”

The servant leadership of the Brotts has shaped so much of my walk with God. They showed me what it looks like to love Jesus wholeheartedly, to love people well, and to faithfully serve wherever God calls. I’m so thankful that the Lord allowed me to be blessed, encouraged, corrected, challenged, and prayed over by Papa. I’ll never take for granted the years I had to hear him preach, share stories, laugh, pray, and faithfully point people to Christ.

The world feels a little dimmer without him here, but knowing that his faith has become sight fills me with such peace and hope. He’s no longer bound by this earthly body or the brokenness of this world. He is whole, he is home, and he is with the Savior he loved and served so faithfully. What a glorious reunion heaven must have had.

Thank you, Papa B., for living a life that reflected Jesus so beautifully and for leaving a legacy of faith that will continue to impact generations.

    Until we meet again.

  • I am both happy and sad. Happy that Bishop Brott is whole again and walking the streets of Gold with Jesus. Sad because we've lost a kind, wonderful Godly man. Well done my good and faithful servant.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Brott family.
