Aimee Beth Leggett

“Uncle Aimee” gifted me a sketchbook every Christmas and birthday and encouraged every child to make weird stuff. I love you forever.

I’ve never seen Aimee more heartbroken than when I accidentally deleted her final fantasy profile and she lost hours and hours worth of progress.

I just heard the news about your health situation, and I am heartbroken. It is hard to fully express how much you’ve meant to me. Having you as my art teacher throughout high school has been one of the most meaningful parts of my life. You didn’t just teach me about art but you taught me how to see the world differently, how to believe in my ideas, and how to grow into myself. Because of you, I found a passion inspiring others too. You are a huge part of who I am and what I will become. You have been such a light in my life and in the lives of so many others. Your kindness, encouragement, and the way you truly cared about your students made a lasting impact that will never fade. I feel so lucky to have been one of your students. Thank you for everything you’ve given me—for your time, your patience, your belief in me, and your passion. I will carry that with me always. I’m going to miss you more than I can put into words, but I will always hold onto what you’ve taught me and the person you’ve helped me become.

From when I first met Aimee in our masters in teaching program her passion for providing young people a safe place for self expression was inspiring. She was such an amazing mom and friend, eagerly jumping into adventures with us backpacking, fishing and in Costa Rica. Her unconditional love, belief and encouragement in Hazel, Spencer, and all her students leaves a lasting mark that will be remembered forever.

I will always remember Aimee’s adventurous spirit. The fishing in a row boat on Offut Lake while getting caught in a downpour of heavy rain. The zip lining in Costa Rica over the rainforest canopy. The many hikes and backpacking trips into the wilderness of the cascades and Olympic Mountains. Her infectious smile and laughter

I'll always treasure the awesome road trip with Aimee, Susan, Hazel, and Spencer to hunt for the elusive Ellensburg blue agate. Spending a beautiful day with a beautiful soul.

Aimee, you were one of the most genuine humans I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Even tho you friend zoned me, much to my dismay, you remained one of my favorite people and our friendship meant the world to me. Rest in peace my friend….until we meet again.
