On Sunday 17th May, our lives were shattered, our hearts broken, and a huge void left in our family forever. We lost Tim doing what he absolutely loved and was so passionate about. To help us through this heartbreaking time, we would love you to share your stories, memories, photos and videos of Tim ❤️

Our deepest condolences Ian & Lynette & families & Chrissy & Ivy.
The year Tim lived with us on our farm in North Canterbury when he was working with Way To Go helicopters in 2009, was full of many adventures. From helicopter spraying work on our farm that Tim helped with, being a welcome part of our family while with us, the hilux crash into a hedge that he was a passenger in & fortunately was unscathed, and flying a Robbie up to Marlborough Sounds to stay with us for new year & landing on the reserve/ beach in front of the bach.
All those events became part of our family history & Tim, a special part of them.
And when Jared started guiding work in Wānaka and frequently worked with Tim, a whole new chapter of our family history was created.
I still cant believe Tim is gone, even after 2 weeks.
We attended Tim’s “celebration of life” service which was incredibly heartfelt & respectful in so many ways.
Many thoughts & prayers for you all.

I Never got to meet Tim’s lovely family but he spoke so highly of you and Ivvy. I’m sure everyone been saying how good Tim was and it’s no exception. Today on his birthday I thought I’d message you to say how deeply sorry I am for your loss. Tim was a great friend of mine and I’d like to think carved me into the South Island hunting guide I am. His knowledge and passion was unbelievable.I Never got to meet Tim’s lovely family but he spoke so highly of you and Ivvy. I’m sure everyone been saying how good Tim was and it’s no exception. Dear Chrissy,
It was lovely to meet you, even under such heartbreaking circumstances. I had met Ivy a few times before, but being able to attend Tim’s service and hear so many stories about him really showed just how deeply respected and loved he was by everyone around him.
Over the years, so many of our clients had the privilege of hunting and spending time with Tim. Since hearing the news, there has been an overwhelming amount of support, love, and concern for you and your family from people all over. He clearly left a lasting mark on so many lives.
Tom has been flying guided heli-hunts with Tim for the past five years and genuinely would not fly with anyone else. They became close mates over that time, spending countless hours together both on and off the hill. Tim was truly a master at what he did. His passion, calm nature, and incredible knowledge made him such an exceptional pilot, and Tom learnt so much from him over the years. The friendship they built meant the world to Tom, and he has spoken so highly of every moment they shared together.
I wanted to pass on something that may be helpful during this incredibly difficult time. We did mention it briefly to you at the bonfire but I thought it would be much easier sending you all of the information through here..
The Dallas Safari Club Foundation has a program called the Global Relief Fund, which was established to support families and situations exactly like this within the hunting and outfitting community.

Please consider applying. So many people who knew and cared about Tim are strongly encouraging it, and truly feel that worrying about financial pressures should be the last thing you need to carry right now.
Tom’s got some awesome videos and photos of Tim doing what he loves to send over on this page which will come soon.
We are thinking of you and your family during this time, and sending all our love.
Wishing the best for yourself and sweet Ivy,

To Chrissy and Ivy, Ian and Lynette; Kate, Nicola and Emma. Thank you so much for allowing us all to share in Tim's celebration of life today. It was an incredibly moving tribute to one hell of a bloke. The stories, the laughs, the memories, the immense hole that Tim leaves....
To all of Tim's family and friends: I had the pleasure of sharing some of my best working days with Tim as a heliski guide and feel privileged to have had the opportunity for our passions to intersect and to have spent time up front with him in a machine that he loved and a job that wasn't really 'work' for either of us.
I am so very sorry for your loss and the loss to our special community. Here's an image and video of Tim doing his thing. His spirit will certainly live on strong in all of us.
Kindest regards, best wishes and thinking of you all in the coming days, weeks and months. To Chrissy and Ivy, Ian and Lynette; Kate, Nicola and Emma. Tim was a bloody inspiration. Everytime I flew with him he said " where do we want to go today Lou , that no one else goes to - let's go exploring !"
Such an incredible human being , he just loved being out there in Fiordland and South Westland and was always sharing stories of taking his darlinv daughter Ivy out into wild places. His Dad always featured in his adventure stories too. He was one of this countries truly great personalities taken way too soon , he had so much more to contribute ! Miss you Tim and that huge smile and that sense of adventure and love of nature and the Alpine family. You took me to some of the most amazing places on the planet ! LouTim was a bloody inspiration.
