I never had the opportunity to meet Curt in person, but I had the joy of meeting him through Leah's stories. Leah is one of my favorite people, so to say that I adore her Curt stories is an understatement. Leah would gush about Curt's kindness, humor, and intelligence, sending me the occasional "I just received this from Curt with no context" image that would insight witty banter that quickly divulged into tears of laughter. Thank you for that, Curt! I have no doubt that Curt was an amazing person, husband, father, friend, (and baker). The biggest of hugs to Leah, Erik, and Marcus. -TaraI never had the opportunity to meet Curt in person, but I had the joy of meeting him through Leah's stories. Curt was a man that lived life to the fullest and he had the stories to prove it. His gift for storytelling would instantly get your attention. My husband and I have many memories of dinner party discussions with Leah and Curt. Curt would always keep everyone on the edge of their seats with his amazing life stories. His zest for life and love for all those in his life were a true testament for the man that he was and will forever be.
Cheers to a legendary man.

I never imagined I would have to write these words, and doing so feels impossibly heavy. Yet alongside the grief, I feel profoundly blessed to have had Curt and Leah in our lives. It feels almost destined that we all arrived in the neighborhood around the same time and became neighbors—not just by chance, but by grace.
Curt was generosity itself, a dear friend in moments of need, a quiet mentor, always gentle, gracious, and deeply caring. He did so much for us that when I look back, my heart holds two emotions at once—gratitude for having known such a gentle soul, and sorrow for having lost him. He was an extraordinary father, a devoted husband, a loving son, and the kind of neighbor everyone hopes to have.
He taught me how to garden, how to care for things I had never known how to tend—lessons that went far beyond plants. I miss our long, unhurried conversations about our sons, navigating their teenage years together. He was immensely proud of Markus and Eric—truly wonderful boys—and of Leah. That pride, that love, was unmistakable.
Curt’s presence made life richer, quieter, kinder. His absence leaves a space that will never be filled, but his spirit remains woven into our lives.I never imagined I would have to write these words, and doing so feels impossibly heavy.
